Nanomaterials for Energy and Catalysis Laboratory (NEC)

Research Focus

Nanomaterials for Energy and Catalysis Laboratory pursues research and development on syntheses and processing of nanomaterials for catalysis in biorefinery and petrorefinery, in particular, biomass conversion to various products, including biofuels, biochemcials, and soil conditioners. We design and optimize catalytic reactors in batch and continuous modes operating at normal and high pressure/temperature. Research activities extend to cover the design of environmental friendly downstream processes, i.e. to upgrade the product quality using specialized separation systems including hydrocyclone and nano-membrane.
